Accepted abstract title
Isolation and characterisation of bacteriophages active against Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains isolated from ocular infections.
Brief description of poster/talk
This research focused on isolating novel bacteriophages from sewage and characterising their ability to infect different strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from ocular infections. Four phages were successfully isolated and characterised. These will be combined into a phage cocktail to evaluate their effectiveness in controlling ocular infections.
Reflection on conference experience
Although I was unable to attend the conference in person, my work was well represented by my supervisor, Mark Willcox. The conference provided an excellent platform showcasing the breadth of antimicrobial resistance research, from epidemiology to emerging therapies, and it was a valuable opportunity to share these findings with the broader scientific community.
